In case you missed it, here is the first line of Ben Brantley's review of the new musical Lestat:

"A promising new contender has arrived in a crowded pharmaceutical field. Joining the ranks of Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata and other prescription lullaby drugs is "Lestat," the musical sleeping pill that opened last night at the Palace Theater."

I might not be seeing this (or much else on Broadway) anytime soon, but at least I can enjoy the snark.

I think the critics are being overly harsh. Yes, it did start off slow, but it picked up speed and the second act was excellent. I have a feeling that this reviewer (as well as the one in the Bergen Record) is someone who does not enjoy genre fiction. I rather liked it. So there :P
