Well, Contata is done, and I return from running the con suite. It was exhausting. It was a lot of work. It was fun.

I really didn't get to do much at the con. Heard very little in the way of filk, in fact. But that was my choice. I could have left the suite in the capable hands of [livejournal.com profile] miriyami, [livejournal.com profile] mabfan and [livejournal.com profile] gnomi more often, but I guess I'm the kind of nut who, once he starts a job, just can't bear to not oversee it as much as possible. (I get that way running shte kiddush at the synagogue, too.) Besides, we got a good deal of music in the room over the course of the weekend, and if you stay in the con suite long enough, nearly everyone at the con visits.

Thanks also go to [livejournal.com profile] ladymondegreen, [livejournal.com profile] akawil and [livejournal.com profile] storychaser for their help. And to [livejournal.com profile] batyatoon for everythng she did in her always-capable way to make sure the suite was in great shape, and that her husband never once felt like we weren't on top of things. We had some very stressful moments, but we did it, didn't we?

As for the rest of my weekend...

- Lady Mondegreen the group was great, as always.

- [livejournal.com profile] filkerdave is still evil.

- There were some great conversations in the con suite about Hugo nominees, Batman Begins and Revenge of the Sith, various and sundry fanfic notions, and Watergate, among other things.

- Got to sing my one and only all-these-words-were-written-by-me filk, "Goodnight Bajor," in a "Goodbye for Now, Star Trek" circle.

- Learned that Diet Coke is much more popular than Diet Pepsi, and that there is little need to buy 6-pound bags of pretzels or those huge tubs of cheesballs.

- It is weird, to me at least, that the hotels that hosted Lunacon and Contata are right across a river from each other. I go to two cons in the NYC area, and they are virtually in the same place.

And now, back to work.
