Justice at the Speed of Sound
May. 15th, 2014 06:40 pm The first trailer for The Flash is online.
And it's kind of hard not to remember just how much of a Flash fanboy I am. It looks amazing, it feels right, and it has a few references to classic moments. There's no telling how good the show will actually be. But the trailer makes me really optimistic,
We had a Flash TV show once before. It was not perfect, but I loved it. And I've been waiting ever since to see the fastest man alive come alive in live action. He has.
Yay!

Date: May. 16th, 2014 05:06 pm (UTC)Barry came back from the dead before the big reboot, it was added. How? Seems one of his enemies travelled back in time to kill the mother. Happy Barry was now mopey Barry.
This in turn became the key plot point of the alternate timeline Flashpoint miniseries, as Barry's attempt to prevent his mother from dying ruined everything else. Who knew she was so important?
This in turn led to the big reboot, as the undoing of the doing ended with the New 52. Where Barry's mother was still killed when he was a kid. Though Barry has been less mopey.
The man who came up with all this? Geoff Johns, of course. Who else would insist that the one DC hero with no angst in his backstory needed some? And guess who's co-writing the pilot episode?
For all that, yes, it looks like this will be a lighter show than Arrow. Flash might be the Superman of the DCTVU to offset Arrow's Batman.
