So Marvel/ABC/Disney announced that an upcoming episode of SHIELD would follow the events of the new Thor film. A film I have no interest in seeing, with a character I don't care about. Basically, they've decided that if someone is watching the show, they will run the theater to see the movie. And the heck with those of us who aren't planning that.

I am out. I was already not sure how much I was going to stay watching. The last episode aired nearly two weeks ago and I can't find the desire to watch it. And now I have to deal with the sort of crossover that has a way of ruining good comics. This only confirms that SHIELD is just an ancillary product, the TV version of one of those comics that spins out of a big event and adds little to the event. It will never be allowed to find its own identity. It will just be something to fill the gaps between the films.

Wake me when Winter Soldier arrives. I'll be watching Arrow in the meantime.
