Back from Balticon

sdelmonteAnd a good time was had by all. Or at least by us. We got to see a lot of friends, and do a lot of fun things. Aside from the aforementioned performance of Sundown, I was in the filk room on and off. And I was in a LARP.
Truth be told, it was not easy for me. I hadn't LARPed in years. Most of the players are regulars at the con and knew each other. And the story was carried over from last year. But I still really enjoyed myself. The GMs had a lot of patience with me and made sure I was engaged. The play was a nice mix of silly and serious. And while the player assigned to help me out left the game Sunday, it was enough to let me stand on my own two feet. I might try to write up something longer about the game, but suffice it to say for now: I missed LARPing. And the next time we go to Balticon, I will be back in the LARP.
And yes, there will be a next time. This con is what Lunacon used to be. Lively and a mix of all ages and interests, hall costumes of all sorts and a broad program in a good hotel. The energy was just right. I needed a good con like this, and I now I have to say, you should go with us next time.
