Lunacon On the Horizon
Feb. 24th, 2004 09:53 amGreetings all. Odds are that if you are reading this and have participated in Kosher Konspiracy meals and e-mails, you probably got the e-mail regarding Lunacon.
But just in case you have not seen the e-mail, let the woprd go out that once again - and against my better judgment - I am organizing a Kosher Konspiracy Shabbat dinner for Friday night. As in recent years, the bulk of the meal - cold cuts and chicken, with salads and some side dishes - will be catered through Mauzone and through our friend the Catering Dwarf. Contributions of challah, wine, dessert, side dishes, drinks and paper goods are welcome, but if you cannot contribute, the share per person for the catered food will be somewhere between $5 and $10.
Please let me know if you plan to join us as soon as possible, so that I can let the Dwarf know what to order.
In addition, because Lucy Schmiedler, the Fan GoH, is bringing her family along, we have three more males over 13 than usual. Which means there is a very good possibility we will have a minyan. If you think you can be part of a morning minyan, I'd love to know. And what's more, if you think you can help me get this organized, let me know. I do not have the wherewithal to arrange for a Torah or a mechitzah, or to bring either without a car anyway, but I am told that such things have been done in the past. So if you can help, please speak up. But I know that we shouldn't really do anything till I have a firm headcount, so I am doing this just to get a jump on things.
Thanks to everyone for their help with this. (And if you are wondering why I am doing this so early, I figure that between Purim and S&G's wedding, things will be get hectic over the next two weeks.)
