Inception is , IMO, the best Philip K. Dick film ever made. Even though it's not based on a PKD story and even though there have been some other really good PKD films.
But Nolan plays with a lot of the same things that PKD did, uses current filmmaking technology as well as a great cast, and generates a film that, while not perfect, is smart and well written and often visionary. It's good to know that Hollywood can still make something like this, that not everything has to be a remake of a sequel and dumbed down to boot.
I will add that I didn't find this at all confusing, and the critics who though the film was technically strong but emotional uninvolved were at a different movie than I saw today.
There is more to say. For now, I am just happy that Inception exists.
