... whoa. They sneaked it ahead on me! I'd last heard 2012, and no subtitle -- but what little rumors of possibility I've heard would fit that.

I dunno about this, I really don't. But I'll go see it anyway, you know I will.

Talking with Pho about it now -- and we're thinking a mass trip to the theater in costume to see it has to happen. That way even if it DOES suck, we'll have fun!

Wait a minute. There's a Tim Powers novel of that name. Is this by any chance based on it?

I looked up the Powers book, and it does seem possible, given the plot and the fact that it apparently influenced Monkey Island.

It would be the oddest idea for a sequel I've ever seen, though.

I suspect that Disney is looking for a Sure Thing on the quick, and this could be it, regardless of quality.

If by "this" you mean "All of PotC ever, arguably" I'd say "possibly".

Really, once you get to "Shandy" from "Chandagnac", how much farther is it to "Sparrow" anyway? Hell, even the timelines match up, really (PotC is clearly set after the golden age of piracy, On Stranger Tides chronicles the end thereof).
