Not the person on my f-list, but the new Microsoft search engine.

Has anyone been using it? Any thoughts? Are there other search engines you use besides Google?

We monitor how people get to our website, and interestingly, a lot of people seem to be using Bing, but the person who asked me about this hadn't even heard of Bing. So it might be worthwhile to poll the audience here.

I've tried it, and found it crap. There was a bug, though, that made it the default search engine on some older IE versions. Some general surveys have found Bing second after Google, so if you are finding the same, it's not astonishing.-

I just barely saw it mentioned a few moments ago on my hotmail- and literally, just moments ago before I clicked over to my f-list and saw your mention of it here.

... That's about all I know of it.

(I am more amused at hearing (seeing?) about it for the first time in two different spots, one right after the other.)

I've heard of it but don't use it. I use Google [so convenient with Google Chrome] and Ask.

I've never used it, nor heard of it.

I'm guessing that its ratings are almost entirely due to some IEs defaulting to it.

Ahaha. I totally read this completely wrong. I've never heard of it. I use Google and secondarily Yahoo, but that's likely old habits dying hard. Very, very rarely I'll use Altavista.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else. I think the only reason you're seeing it a lot is because IE defaults to it for now. It is the default enjoy on my work computer, and I hate it, but it is the search enjoy at the top of my IE window. I have to give up tab space for google, and that's too much of a bother on an older computer.

I've heard of it, but I haven't so far tried it.
I've been getting annoyed with Google lately, but with my non-love of Vista [let me do searches MY way instead of those hellacious "indexed" abominations...]and the cutesy-poo moronic user paradigms involved, I've been averse to spending any of my time and attention even looking at Bing.

Also, I object to the search bar eating up display space and memory... I can run almost ANYTHING out of memory, and resent every byte of what to me is fatuous bloatware alleged "enhancements."

(I did not, however, sing my anti-Vista song at Concertino... got so ticked at Vista I committed filk complaining about it....)

Once again, Bing is Microsoft innovation at work: see what everyone else has done, and try to build a better product.

Of the few times I tried it, I'm not overly impressed. I think I'll stick to Google for my searching.
