Pat Hingle RIP

The accomplished stage and screen actor Pat Hingle has passed on at the age of 84. Hingle is best known in fannish circles for his role as Commissioner Gordon in the Burton-Schumacher Batman films. He, also with Michael Gough as Alfred, appeared in all four films, and brought a degree of talent and class to both the films and to a part that was really too small.

I also had the pleasure of seeing him as Ben Franklin in the 90s revival of 1776.
