"The Next Doctor"
Dec. 28th, 2008 05:20 pmEnjoyable, but not great. I didn't care much for the bad guy or the acting therein, or the overall plot. The Cyberman are played out, though a giant Steampunk Cyberman is kinda cool.
What I loved is David Morrisey as "The Doctor" and as his true self. It's good to finally have an episode that gets away from the usual Doctor-Companion dynamic. I have to wonder what might have happened, though, if he was hired to be the next Doctor for real. Would have made a very different sort of show.
I also continue to marvel at Tennant. And to cherish every remaining appearance he makes in the role.
And I loved getting the glimpses of all the Doctors. Even McGann.
And now we wait till at least Easter for the next special.
