sdelmonteA quick shout-out to the Phillies and their fans on the occasion of winning the World Series. In theory, as a Mets fan I should be sneering about this. But the Phils did everything right, and a lot of things the Mets didn't. They earned this title, period. And did the way it should be done, with a mix of shrewd trades and home-grown talent and a great team dynamic.
And surely the people of Philadelphia, one of America's great cities, have gone too long without a title. That wait is over at last, and as someone whose own teams excepting the Giants) tend to let him down, I am glad to see the City of Brotherly Love celebrate today.
