sdelmonteI appreciate that Yankee Stadium is full of history. But I really didn't need a four day lovefest talking about its mystique and its aura and how it's been torn down.
Especially since Shea Stadium is ALSO being replaced. And yes, it's not as old and the Mets are not the Yankees, but it would have been nice if, since Major League Baseball is holding the All-Star Game in NYC anyway, to have done something in tribute to Shea as well. Some of us love it.
Never mind that the Mets are the hottest team in baseball right now and no one seems to care because they are playing the All-Star Game (which is a bore even to most baseball fans) at the other park.
