This Week's Comics - Buffy, Detective
Oct. 3rd, 2007 01:36 pmQuick takes today.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season Eight 7 - Faith's at the fancy dress party, but things don't go right. And Willow and Dawn talk. Not as strong an issue as part one, mainly because things get stretched out. Also, BKV doesn't write Willow as well as he does Faith, Giles or Xander. Still very good, though.
Detective Comics 837 - Bruce Wayne hires the Riddler to find a WayneTech employee who's gone missing with a wonder drug. The trail leads to Harley Quinn, who's stuck in the misery known as Countdown. When the focus stays on Riddler, or on Harley away from the Countdown-related story, it's real good. When we get stuck inside Countdown things, it's readable but empty. Good thing that Dini writes Harley and Nigma so well.
