1. The flowers are still standing!
As guessed, Ghostbusters. I knew I was marrying into the right family when Batya's brother quoted this line at the appropriate moment.
2. I rent them. I have a lease with an option to buy.
Fletch, which is also a film that Batya's family quotes constantly (much as my brother and I did for years).
3. Implied...or implode?
The 1999 Halloween episode of The Simpsons, possibly the single most quoted TV series ever (and the one I quote almost daily).
4. If we go by the book...hours seem like days.
As guessed, Star Trek II, which I have seen more than any other film.
5. Well, ya got me. By all accounts, it doesn't make sense.
The Emperor's New Groove.
6. That was a hell of a thing!
Galaxy Quest.
7. He's very persuasive.
As guessed, Lilo and Stitch. Funny how Disney went decades without having a quotable movie, and just when 2D was about to vanish (temporarily), we get two films with such great scripts in short order.
8. I am the fingernail that scrapes the blackboard of your soul.
As guessed, Darkwing Duck. Though when I feel like referencing the show, I make up a Darkwingism: "I am the terror that flaps in the night! I am the fifth dentist!" (I'm silly that way.)
