Age of Ultron
May. 10th, 2015 08:28 pmSaw it today. Liked it a lot more than the first Avengers film. Lots of fun, lots of good acting. But the plot was a mess, Ultron was so-so as a bad guy, and things were rather crowded and even rushed. (And just to note this, a lot of the CGI felt like CGI, though the revamped Hulk effects worked.) It was merely a good film that feels like it was highlights from a great TV show. After four feature films, I think that Joss remains a TV man at heart, and that maybe he should return to TV for his next project. Netflix and HBO would make great places for him.
Favorite character in this one? After finding Hawkeye a bore in the last one, he really surprised me by being that interesting. Cap was his usual self, but sort of lost in the crowd. I am tired of Tony (if not RDJ). Banner wasn't as great in this one, which was a disappointment. Natasha remains awesome (even if some of the criticism about how she's used is valid). And Thor finaly seems interesting, too, if not really a leading man. The Vision is promising for the next film, Scarlet Witch less so. And Samuel L. steals every scene he's in.
