Not mine, don't worry.
But Richard Lacayo, the capable and intelligent art critic for Time Magazine, is
ending his daily blog.
I have explored the myriad blogs related to the art world over the past three years. Most art blogs are written by frustrated journalists who want to find something wrong with how every museum does business, or by artists whose interests rarely transcend their own style. As much as getting one of the more popular blogs to cover the Museum would be a coup, I have always expected that we'd get coverage of the sort that will never actually bring us an audience.
Richard Lacayo, however, is first and foremost a lover of art and a friend of museums. It shows in his reviews. It shows in what he blogged about. Unlike most of his peers in the art blogosphere, his presence will be missed.
