Because I demanded it, a post about Joss's newest show...
It's not bad. The acting was generally good and the production values were strong and it was well paced. But there was not much here to hook me, and it didn't really feel like a Joss Whedon script 90% of the time. The Plot of the Week was weak and pedestrian. If anyone else were in charge, I might not watch again. Then again, if anyone else where in charge, I wouldn't have tried it at all. The premise could get stronger, or it could crash and burn.
But as pilots go, it's not the pilot for Lost. Or Buffy. It's not even the pilot for Smallville. And while I know you can't judge a series on its pilot, sometimes it hints at the future. The hint I got was "work in progress - check again later."
