One More Thought...
Jan. 20th, 2009 12:03 pmThere have been times, over the past eight years, that I was not quite sure that Dubya would go away. That given how he took office and how he and his people abused their power and scared us in a regular basis, he would find an excuse to stay. Or that they would find a way to rig the votes so that Dubya would be followed by someone who was essentially the same (I still marvel at the fact that Cheney, in his arrogance, didn't run for president). Or that they would pull the sort of stunt Nixon does in Watchmen (and that Bloomberg did in real life in New York) and change the law.

And instead, George W. Bush, among the very worst presidents we ever had and almost definitely the worst two-term president we ever had, has left office. That, too, is worth celebrating.
