Girl Genius
Jul. 21st, 2007 09:38 pmAnd now, a change of pace...
I found Girl Genius Omnibus 1 in the library. This consists of the first three books of the series, reprinted in glorious black and white, and also stripped of the extra materials.
Good stuff. Not what I expected, given that I had heard a lot about the humor and very little about the story, the characters or the world. Oh, it can be funny, in a very Foglio way. But it gets surprisingly dark at odd moments, jumps back to funny, is occasinally poignant, and boasts some amazing characters.
Mainly Agatha. She is fascinating, sympathetic, smart, and worth knowing.
Now we need to track dwon the rest of it. Yes, I could read it online, but I have never quite managed with webcomics. I prefer them on paper. And soon.
