The day so far...
Jan. 25th, 2007 08:56 am- 5:25 am - Business news on the radio includes the fact that flight attendants on British Airways are planning a two-day strike. Next week. When we are flying.
- 7:15 am - Get a phone call that a close friend's mother has passed away. (Odds are if you know this friend as well you have seen his LJ post about this.)
- 8:40 am - Get to work. Cellphone seems to be dead.
- 8:45 am - At least I can rest assured about British Airways. While they have cancelled all outbound flights for next Tuesday and Wednesday, at this point all inbound flights on Tuesday are still a go. However, there might be a second strike when we are supposed to come home. Britfriends, is this common for BA, or just a joke on us?
- 8:50 - Boss calls in sick. So much for getting any work done, though it does make my day a little saner.
8:58 - TV crew shows up. I go to work.
I am off and running.
