Gargyoles #2

Yes, folks, according to the new comics release list for this week, the second issue of the Gargoyles comic book is coming out today.

Which means I now have to figure out who is selling it locally. But at least it's finally back, after a six month wait.

(Also due today is the finale of The Escapists and the free Dark Tower comic preview.)

Heionlein Centennial Convention

I just stumbled over an ad for the Robert Heinlein Centennial Convention this July, and figured that some of you would be interested. I am not a big Heinlein fan myself, but I know that his place in the great SF writers' pantheon is well-deserved and that this event should be quite noteworthy.

This Week's Comics (in brief)

Think I migt be busy for a while, so here are spoiler-free bits on three new comics...

52, Week Thirty-Two - Featuring Ralph Dibny. Well done but sorta confusing. Still not sure we are getting anywhere.

The Escapists 6 - A bit of undue snarkiness from one character about Internet fandom is the one sour (and jarring) note in a good (but not brilliant) last issue. The story is done, though, so I will not pester BKV to bring these folks back

The Spirit 1 - Well, Darwyn Cooke has the art down, and the character of the Spirit, but the story was a bit off. Whether a monthly series starring a character who has not been updated since the 40s (and whose adventures were always seven pages long) is still up in the air.

Regarding My Computer

So far, so good...

It works again. All the files seem to be there. (I will do a proper inspection later at home.) And, it's been upgraded. It now has XP!

I guess it's like a Time Lord. It died. It regenerated. It's different. It's the same. Fantastic!
