2006 Pegasus Nominations
Aug. 25th, 2006 09:04 amThe 2006 Pegasus nominations for best filk songs and performers are out!
And what an amazing ballot is it this year! It's a great mix of long time filkers and recent arrivals on the scene, and picking just one song to vote for will be really tough. The Pegasus concert will be wonderful, won't it?
But the most amazing nom is that of Judi Miller for Best Performer. Judi, for those of you not in the know, does sign language interpretations of concerts at OVFF (and, I assume, other cons). By which I mean interpretations - not merely signing the lyrics but capturing the spirit of the song. As much as Tom Smith and Ookla and Steve Macdonald all deserve a Best Performer Award - no slight to Chris Conway, but I've never seen him perform - I am voting for Judi. She's in their league, she's out there for EVERY concert, and she never seems to tire or to lose that winning smile.
Congrats to all the nominees, with a special tip of the hat to those of you on my f-list.
