Today marks the return of Marvel's comic book Runaways. Launched two years to great acclaim and lost sales, it was cancelled but saved due to surprisingly good sales in digest form. Written by the versatile Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man), it focuses on a group of teens who discover that their lives are not what they thought they were. While based within the Marvel Universe, no great knowledge of that quagmire is required. The scripts are witty, the characters likeable, and the view of super-heroes is both skewed and affectionate.

Marvel gave this a second chance, but it won't have long to prove itself. So get out there and when you pick up the latest (albeit late) issue of Joss Whedon's X-Men comic, also buy the one new comic that Joss has actually written a fan letter to.

Now, go!!
