Scott Muni RIP
Sep. 29th, 2004 05:35 pmNew York radio legend Scott Muni, long known as "The Professor," passed on at the age of 74.
When I was in college and first getting into rock music, he was the afternoon DJ on WNEW-FM. He was one of the guides to that fabulous world of what's now called classic rock. I listened as much for him as for the music. The days of the lively, intelligent DJ are almost gone in New York radio, and Scott, along with Cosuin Brucie, was among the last of the legends.
Radio and rock won't be the same without him.
Rest well, Professor.
