You may have hear about the torrential downpours from the remnants of Hurricane Frances, and how they mucked up the rush hour. Alas, I was an unwilling participant. Yook me two hours to get to work, on a day when we had a press event at 10 am. What's more, I was actually rather lucky, as most of those delayed were stalled out far longer.

This left me rushing to set up for the event on my own, and then without the proper amount of security guards needed to open for the event on time. Then again, only 20 journalists, mostly freelancers, came, and only one came at 10 am. Still, it was a mad scramble, and to top it off I have a mild cold.

The day was long, therefore, and I spent it was waterlogged feet. The day was made longer by a donors' event in the evening.

Of course, sometimes things can even out.

I decided to use the museum's car service for once, figuring that finding a cab would be quite hard. To my surprise, they sent a limo. Naturally, I had my own radio to tune, and found the classic rock station. They began playing "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."

So here I am, relaxing in a limo, listening to one of my favorite songs, and looking out at the skyline as we cross the Triboro Bridge. It's of at that moment when the song reaches its "Stop Right There!" crescendo.

Not a bad way to end a long day.
