This weekend, the Northeast FLoating Filk Con floats to Rickville, MD, in the form of Conterpoint. Chris "Minstrel" Malme is the GoH and is making his US debut. Bob Esty of Clam Chowder will be Toastmaster. And our very own Jordan Mann will be Interfilk Guest.
Moreover, Lady Mondegreen - the group and not merely the person - will be gathered in concert on Saturday at 3 pm.
So I hope to see them's of you that's coming.
However, if we could have picked a more harried weekend, we couldn't have done better, as this Friday will be the state funeral for Reagan. In Washington. So look forward to a city with a very high security profile, lots of traffic, and a whole bunch of things closed as the federal government is going to be shut down for a day of mourning. (I say this only as a note to the filkers and not as a "how dare they do this for him!" rant. He was president, and this is how presidents get laid to rest if the family chooses.) So budget extra time if possible if you are heading through the city.
