Another Postcard from Mars
Jan. 25th, 2004 07:49 amHere's one of the first snapshots from the rover Opportunity, now lnaded safely on the other side of Mars from Spirit:

(Guess you could say Mars is now the land of Opportunity.)
Meanwhile, Spirit is behaving better. Apparently, it had a software glitch. Either Windows 95 crashed again, or the e-mails it has been receiving from the Ambassador of Mars to Nigeria have crowded its memories.
And above Mars, the European Space Agency's Mars Express thinks it's found proof of water on Mars:

Lastly, Batya and I have an evil idea for a new film inspired by all this. BWA-HA-HA!
