The Book of Threes
Jun. 2nd, 2002 10:02 amThe Law of Threes.
Three things I have brand loyalty to, defining 'brand loyalty' as 'will buy anything they offer you, pretty much without question':
1. DC Comics. OK, I won't buy anything, but my loyalty to DC to the exclusion of the rest of the comics industry bordered on the obsessive
2. Donald Westlake. The best crime writer in America, bar none.
3. Joss Whedon. Firefly is likely to test my patience and my VCR.
Three things I like to eat between meals:
1. Pretzels
2. Chocolate of all kinds
3. Iced tea with lots of sugar
Three songs I can sing in my sleep:
1. The Hebrew prayer "Adon Olam"
2. Anything by the Beatles
3. Anything from the Buffy musical
Three games I like to play:
1. Munchkins. Darn, it's addictive
2. Solitaire. Lord knows why, but it's rarely dull.
3. Frog Juice.
Three books that moved me:
1. "Thr Grapes of Wrath." My choice for greatest American novel, to boot.
Can't think of others, at the moment.
If I had a million dollars, I would buy...
1. A nice house
2. An apartment in Jerusalem for us and any family members to use as needed
3. A car, God help me.
Three of my guiltiest pleasures:
1. "Roswell." Some TV showa are not worth the time, and yet we watch.
2. Bad cartoons. Things like "Tarzan" are not worth the time either, but darn it, I need my cartoons.
3. Lunch at the nearby kosher pizza place. It's pricey and fattening and I con't care, much.
The last three CDs I listened to were...
1. "The Stranger," Billy Joel
2. "Highway 61 Revisited," Bob Dylan
3. Grateful Dead's Greatest Hits
Three albums I used to listen to all the time:
1. "The Stranger." Today is the frist time in ages I've played it. It has my favorite song of all time, "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant."
2. "Flaming Pie," Paul McCartney. It's his best solo work, but gets justa tad tiresome after a while.
3. "Rhapsody in Blue," George Gershwin.
Three places I'd like to run away to:
1. Jerusalem. Terrorism be damned. Irt's still Jerusalem.
2. London. I was only there once and barely got to explore it.
3. Taos, NM, during ski season. Art, culture, snow.
Three bad habits I have:
This one I'll skip. Suffice it say, I have three bad habits.
Three things I would never wear:
1. A LA Dodgers cap. New Yorkers never forget such offenses as leaving Brooklyn
2. A brown suit.
3. Women's clothing.
Three things that make me glad to be here:
1. Batya.
2. My nieces and nephews.
3. Spring days when all you have to do is read comics, listen to the ball game, and drink iced tea.
