Fables 40

This week is a big one for fans of Bill Willingham's Fables comic. For in the new issue, #40, we finally learn the identity of the Adversary.

No spoilers here. Just making sure that if you buy the comic as a monthly, you don't want to miss it. And if you buy it as trade paperbacks, be aware that there are spoilers out there in various places, but that the TPB for this story arc is due in before the holidays.

And if haven't tried Fables yet, what are you waiting for? This is my favorite comic book, and everyone who loves fairy tales, comic books or good fiction should be reading it. (Though be aware that there is adult content often, so keep the little ones away from it.) The first TPB still sells for $9.99 and should hook you, so I suggest you try it.

Already tried it once, wasn't my thing. May try it again, as issue #1 is downloadable as a free PDF from the DC Comics Vertigo website.

Sex and foul language won't necessarily turn me away from a book; I'm more prone to stop reading if there's excess gore or violence, or something gross.

The Adversary turns out to be Mark Felt.

Okay, I read the first issue, and it was pretty good. Maybe I'll pick up the first trade and see if I like it.

Okay, I bought the first trade. I'll let you know how it is.

More. I now own trades 2, 3, and 4, and they're getting 5 for me.
