Why do they say *if* a woodchuck could chuck wood? What's the point of calling it a woodchuck if it can't?
On a more serious note, what's your favourite fan letter to a comic book you've had published. What letter do you most wish WOULD have been published but wasn't?
That's three questions, ultimately. I never was good at following rules. Or counting.
1. I think the name is derived from some 12th Nordic word that means "animal that cannot chuck wood." It's merely a modern mistranslation.
2. Favorite letter? Probably one that ran in John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake's The Spectre, arund issue 10 or so. In the letter, I commented about a remark made by a villain about the nature of the Spectre that linked the Spectre to various events in the Bible. I linked the events referenced by quoting a Midrash, and then accidentally foresaw a story where we learn Spec was the angel of death at the Slaying of the Firstborn in Exodus. I was literate, Jewish, and prescient.
3. Letter I most wished to see printed? Probably the one I wrote when I stopped reading X-Men way back when. It was negative, and I so rarely wrote anything negative, and they so rarely printed anytihng negative.
(Oh, and this is Rachel, the silly little Ohio girl who came to visit back in March. Of course you remember me, don't be silly. Who could forget me? *grin*)
Joseph. He was just about the only Biblical figure to raise his kids right, without any rivalries. Plus he grew up from his bratty ways and did pretty much everything right.
