The Unposted Reply

So three times today, I started to post what I planned to be humorous comments, and three times I decided not to. Does anyone else find themselves doing that, essentially getting the joke, or the comment, or the criticism or the rant, out of their systems and then moving on?

Oh, yeah, I've done that. I'll write a long LJ post (or e-mail sometimes) and by the time I finish writing it I'll think better of sending it out into the world, but just the action of writing it out has helped purge me of whatever caused me to write it out in the first place.

I do that all the time with comments and with posts. In fact I probably write over twice as much as I ever actually post or comment. Actually I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one :).

Very much so, Kind sir. That's why I write everything in a regular notebook before spending all the time writing it in my lj, only to end up deleting it.
