That is, Roger Ebert offers his thoughts on Twitter and other net-based innovations, and ponders where it's all heading, filtered through his friendship with Sir Arthur C. Clarke and one of Clarke's novels. Fascinating stuff, with some interesting responses by his readers (even if you don't agree with his opinions or conclusions).

It's easy for Ebert to rail against Twittering when he's one of the most well read and influential columnists in the nation.

It's easy for him to get his thoughts and ideas out, he's spent a lifetime building up cred and an audience. For the rest of us, there's Twitter and texting...
