Pluto Updates

From Space.com:

Informal NY survey reveals indifference and derision about Pluto plans

Alternate plan to demote Pluto proposed; astronomers reportedly split

wording of counter-proposal

Clearly, the debate could get pretty loud. If I were to predict, I would say that Pluto is in trouble. And no one but us science geeks will care.

Add me to the list of people who care too, Alex.

I mean, aren't there more pressing things for them to worry about? Sunspots? Giant asteroid hurtling toward Earth? Federal science grant funding getting 100% diverted to some Senator's "My Favorite Lobbyists Club"?

How did this get to the top of the list?
