This Week's Comics (Addendum) - Runaways
I missed this one when I went Wednesday, thinking it was due next week. Good think I noticed a few (spoiler-free) reviews.
Because you should not read this one, and CANNOT discuss this one, without big spoilers.
Runaways 18 - Good news: it wasn't Nico who Geoffrey Wilder shot. More good news: it looks like the Skrull joins the team. Bad news: The death? It was Gert. Gert, who was getting a bit annoying but who was always interesting. Gert, who was the one who was supposed to lead the Avengers in the future. Gert, the purple-haired undertall and chubby Jewish girl.
I should be angrier, or annoyed, or something. Had this happened in the first run of Runaways, I would be. But this series is just not quite as good. It's still above average. it's still got a strong cast. I just don't care as much about them.
Of the cast, though, I probably liked Gert the most until she became the most extreme in the "all adults are bad" game. That's why she was annoying me. That said, it's sad that we won't get to see if Gert would have matured enough to see the world in shades of gray. Or if her idealism would have become more than just snarkiness.
