Comics: IC Secret Files, OYL Nightwing, Runaways

No spoilers, just vague impressions...

Secret Files - Not essential at all to the bigger event, but also not a bad comic. Glad to see Marv Wolfman and Dan Jurgens working for DC again.

Nightwing 118 - It's one year later, and Devin Grayson is already sorely missed. Aside from what I thought was poor characterization, we also get a story by Bruce Jones that is close to incoherent. Nice art, though.

Runaways 14 - Interesting, though I feel like BKV is hitting some notes too often.

I'm dropping that version of Dick from the bar, from that issue alone. I don't know whether I'm going Elseworlds or going way earlier in his timeline (like, think fifteen years old), but I am so sick of this.

...Is Secret Files worth checking out? Or is it just 'not bad'?

I think, given the absurd $6 price - which does get a lot of story, at least - it's merely "not bad." Not nearly as gripping as the Ic series itself. It does explain a lot though about the survivors of the original Crisis.

Not that I'm surprised or anything and really, I should be over this by now, and there was a reason I dropped the book after #117, but I've been poking around at the spoilers for NW #118 and...twitch...gah...no. Just a World of NO. And I'm not surprised at the World of NO.

But...yeesh!
