This Week's Comics - Countdown, Nightwing
Not much to say about either, so no spoilers.
Countdown 51 - Yes, the first issue is #51, and this will count down to zero. Whatever. At least the issue number is the same size and typeface as the "52" on the cover of 52. But this doesn't feel like 52, at least after one issue. It was okay, but it focuses on some characters I don't care for, and given the high quality of Dini's scripts for Detective, this was quite pedestrian. I plan to give this two months, to let each of the writers get two turns. It took 52 a little while to convince me to stay, so giving it a shot is only fair.
Nightwing 132 - Nightwing's last fight with Bride and Groom is not scintillating, but a decent guest artist and some interesting choices regarding the supporting cast for this issue make it quite readable. Marv Wolfman knows how to write people, even if the plot is meh.
