I completely agree. They definitely broke any number of laws and there should be some kind of repercussion besides losing her father's trust (though, for Veronica, that's probably worse than prison). I'd guess we'll see the FBI again.
All of this could have been avoided if Duncan had merely gone to Meg's parents, showed them her letters to Child Protective Services and asked them if they really wanted all of this to come out in a very public trial.
Of course, this way, Duncan is off the show which isn't a bad thing.
